why would you want to build a battery charger when they can be purchased cheaper than you can build one, they have a warranty, and liability if things go wrong----just buy one, it better that way.

I built one when I was doing a lot of racing, took a alternator and washing machine motor and mounted on a board, made sure the belt was tight, plugged the motor in a 110 outlet, ran the wires from the alternator to battery and it would charge the battery up in about 15 minutes, hopes this helps.

Not sure why anyone would want to build a battery charger, as it can't be as inexpensive and safe as commercially available units. It is ill advised to build one, as batteries can be very dangerous if not treated correctly.
