I've been up since 7 am... bad chills, cramps, and sweating...

And right now I''m just sitting here with this sickly/nauseated feeling in my stomach, but I don't have to "go," and I can't throw up.

It might sound like a stupid question... The reason I asked the question is that this is one of the worst bouts I've ever had... about an hour ago it was so bad I really genuinely thought I might die from it. And right now, though I can't "go" anymore, I still feel incredibly queasy and just ... "wrong." I don't think I've experienced this before.

Dehydration can cause death. With dehydration, the signs and symptoms are like those of shock. The skin is cold, dry ,loose. The pulse is rapid and feeble. There is excessive thirst, then drowsiness folowed by unconsciousness. The eyes are sunken.
Take plenty of ORS, such as Pedialyte. If you vomit, take a sip every few minutes. Eat bananas, rice, yoghurt, apples. Drink lots of water and take rest. You should be all right soon.

Well I hope that you are feeling better, I just checked and it has been nine hours sense you posted. Make sure you are drinking lots of liquids. You will poop more but maybe you want dehydrate, that is what people die from. Try going to the store and getting som imodiome or something to that effect, but get the tablets because liguid will most likely not do well. This will help slow it down if you have not slowed down yet. If you feel like you can eat a little, eat banannas that will help stop you up a bit or at least get it where it is not so runny, but for the most part don't worry. If you are still going pretty bad a couple hours from now, go on to the hospital and they will be able to give you fluids so you don't dehydrate.

Actually I know exactly how you feel. I felt like this a few months ago. This is what I did:
1. tons of rest...that means get off the computer :)
2. tons and tons of liquids...pedialyte for little kids actually works very well to rehydrate your body.
3. Immodium AD, and the liquid actually works much faster than the tablets...sorry to the person above me! The pills need time to dissolve and take longer to work. The liquid works very fast. and it lets you get some sleep!
4. Eat small meals that are bland...chicken broth, crackers, bananas, apples, plain toast, plain white rice, stuff like that.
If you don't get better, go to the dr.
Feel Better Soon!

People don't die simply because of diarrhea. It's mainly due to the dehydration associated with it.

Be sure to keep hydrated and get lots of rest.

it feels like you just swallowed a grenade but your stomach is made out of stretching rubber not allowed to blow up. trust me, i swallowed a grenade before and i had to have surgery to get it removed the the diarrhea stopped.
