I actually met someone who was paraylzed from the waist down and him and his wife have been married for many many years now. He was paralyzed before they met/married, now they both have three children. If you truly love someone it won't matter, and if both are committed they can work through anything.

It totally totally depends on the couple involved! The woman would have to be very committed. They would both have to discuss all issues and obstacles BEFORE the marriage -
Discuss:
Whether or not a sex life is possible and how this is achieved.
Whether they could/would want to have children.
How she or they are going to earn a living.
How they would feel in later life.
Just by asking i feel that you DO feel there are too many obstacles!

I have an able bodied friend who is married to a paralysed man and they are really happy. You can do plenty of things together. You may have to make some alteration to your home and things and work a bit harder but I think it should be worth it if there is love there

The able bodied is probably giving up the comfort of an able bodied companions for some other considerations. It can work only if one is willing to sacrifice as a part of duty and not burden. Procreation may still be possible.

As long as both try to keep it an equal relationship rather than the woman being "above" the man, there should be no obstacles.

I think it is DISGUSTING the fact that your first answer was, 'they make good toys'.
It will work if the two are in love, it's not work if they're looking after someone they love, it's like a mother looking after a child...
You can't just push a person aside because they're too much hard work... he's just the same, but without the use of legs. Pleanty of people managed like this, why shouldn't you?
Good luck to you, or who ever your asking this for..

If there are obstacles then find a way around them. Most things can be solved or sorted out with a little thought!

the fact that you have to ask the question shows you have doubts deep down. these will only drive a wedge over years. only do it if you are 100% sure its the right thing for you both.

I see no reason why it wouldn't work. I am assuming you are talking about the sex part. There are marriages that thrive on love and caring without the sex.
