I have removed the seats and want to remove the brackets, too. It appears to require about a size 55 hex torque bit, but it doesn't fit tightly because the points of the stars are actually rounded. Is there a special tool that I need? I have checked with Ford and several auto parts stores and no one seems to know.

yes but the bolt didn't come like that. it got worn down by something. so you have to mod. the 55 hex yourself
