Very hard times...compared to death...the worst enemy....something very bad happening...bad circumstances...seems like a dead end in life....no way out....

According to what iI have read, the shadow of death is anything that comes upon you that can ultimately take your life. According to my study bible; we are helpless in the presence of death and that is why it casts a frightening shadow, and there's only one person who can wlak us through it safely to the other side; that is Jesus, the God of life, our shepherd.
