Poem written by : Maymoonah MS Adly
"What is Islam?” is the question you ask.
Answering this question is every Muslims task.
Describing Islam can be a lot,
But first I’ll tell you what Islam is not.
Islam is not Faraqan and terrorism.
Nor is it oppressing women and racism.
Islam doesn’t teach these things.
On the contrary it forbids them.
Islam isn’t focused on selling news papers and bean pies.
It’s not about drinking goats milk and having many wives.
Most people think Islam is just a religion.
But, it is actually a detailed way of living,
prescribed by Allah, the merciful, the forgiving.
Peace, submission, and morality,
Respect, kindness and charity.
And worshipping one God, the All Mighty,
This is Islam.
It demolishes the cloudiness and confusion in our brains.
Faith in God is one thing Islam sustains.
It makes clear our purpose of life, beginning and end.
People take our wealth and freedom, but our faith we must defend.

Christains are told to go out into the world and share the Word of God. Of course I believe this because it is written. But I think Christians should be wise in the way that they share the Word. I believe that Christians should be loving and kind and when the time feels right then approach the subject, not to just jump right in a conversation and demand that others must do as I say or believe. I think Christians should show others how wonderful The Lord is by being helpful, kind, loving, giving, polite, joyous, and then when you have established a friendship then just simply share the things that the Lord has done for you in your life. All God wants us to do is put the Word out there and He will do the rest.

Well the people who say they don't want to be bothered will respond to this question with a hearty "no".
Yes I do believe people should invite others to their religion.
1. Because they do believe it is the way to salvation. (or in other religions, peace, self-actualization, etc)
2. Because they sincerely believe it is the Truth. If you believe it is the truth, you will want to reveal the truth with others.
3. Because their religion is the center of their lives. Most religions when followed appropiately consume your life. So you can't help but talk about it and invite others to take part in what you are experiencing.
(I am sure there are other good reaons, but these are the first 3 i thought of off the top of my head.)

Its pretty arrogant to assume that your religion is right over the other million that exist. I would say that people should discuss their beliefs and then if someone wants to convert, so be it. I find it hard to believe that only one group of people will make it to heaven. Sometimes I feel that if religion was real it would be more unified. Perhaps we are all right and just believing in something that puts us on a righteous path is good enough. That makes a lot more sense than burning in hell because you were taught different ideas.

On the one hand people think that their religion can save other people, and so inviting people to their religion is very kind and thoughtful. On the other hand most people are already aware of the basics of the major religions and already have opinions. Religion is such a volitile topic at times, I think it is often rude to try to convert people. People should only invite other people if they show some kind of interest.

Absolutely!! As long as they don't have a religion that they practice. There is a word for it when you invite and they already practice a certain religion. It's in the Bible but I can't think of the word right now.

It does not matter what I think.
WHAT
does GOD think.
ALL
religions do not lead to heaven.
Except for one religion,
ALL
religions lead
STRAIGHT
to Hell.
If you are a
TRUE
follower of Christ, you will believe that the only way to heaven is by staying in the Word.

Yes. But they must also respect the right of the person being invited to decline and move on. (Quietly and quickly)

It is the heart and soul of Christianity to tell everyone you can about the Gospel. "To go to Heaven, and take as many as I can with me."

Did you know that Jesus spoke out against religion? Jesus was killed, inter alia, for speaking out, and threatening, the established church of the day.
No one should be 'religious.' All should seek Christ.
