Depends on how far along you are, you cant claim JSA after 29 weeks, as you cant activly seek work, you can claim Maternity allowance if you worked for at least 26 weeks during the year before your pregnancy, if you cant get MA you can claim income support ( this depends on your partners work hours and income). For the baby you can get Sure Start Maternity Grant 11 weeks before your baby is due, its £500 for you babys things, its not for you!. If you decide to return to work after the baby is born, you can claim working tax credit and child tax credit which top up your earnings at the end of each month. You get money for the baby when its born also, its only about £17 odd per week but every child is entitled to it, Free milk, dental care and perscriptions.

i think you can get free dental care from the NHS...but i think it has a rather long queue and NHS has probably queues will not shorten but will grow quicker than the speed of light...(i'm sorry, but i don't really like the NHS system...)

1. It would depend where you live.
2. I hope you wouldn't get to claim many beyond the same unemployment that nonpregnant people get.
3. Why should the taxpayers fund your "time off" just because you're spawning?
