I don't judge, but it makes me wonder who runs the house, the kids or the parents. I have a 16 year old sister and thank goodness she has enough sense not to dress like a prostitute. Heck, I've seen 12-13 year old girls wearing less than a stripper outfit (the whole outfit not just the bra and underwear), in the middle of winter. What's even worse is when I go into places like Victoria's Secret and see mom's buying their very young daughters thongs and other items that are meant for women to show off to a significant other, not children trying to play grown-up.

I wouldn't say I look down on the parents because it is often something that is out of their control but I would disapprove ofmy kids dressing this way.
On the other hand I am a very strict parent but one area that I feel is neccessary to be lenient is my child's dress sense. My husband and I have always allowed them within reason to express themselves through their clothes and music and therefore to allow them to make their own choices.
As a mother of a 14 and 12 yr old I know that this can sometimes backfire and if their father and I do not approve of something they are wearing we will step in. What I tell them is that when they are paying for their own clothes they can wear what they want but I also believe it is about teaching them that what they wear automatically sends out a message on who they are and that they should dress in a way that they want to be preceived.
Bottom line teens are teens and whether we allow it or not when they leave the house they can make their own decisions on what to wear, decisions we may never find out about.

Absolutely! I believe it is a parents job to set an example for their children. You are not there to be their best friends, you are there to be their parent. You provide the guidance and the rules and make sure they follow them. As a pre-teen they are more likely to get confused by peer pressure and examples on television. They need to have a sane voice to teach them about self respect and modesty. It is your job as a parent to provide that. If you don't, then you have no right being upset when they become promiscuous! Teach them now while they are still listening before they hit the late teen years and start to believe you are an idiot! Good luck!!!

I think it is inappropriate. I also think that the schools are partially to blame as well. Most schools have policies against 6 year olds wearing belly tops and short skirts, but they don't enforce it which premotes the clothing.
All I can say is that if I have a child one day and I see that she has bought something in appropriate I will throw it out instantly.
I would like to blame the stores too though. What 8 year old needs a shirt designed to show off cleavage, daisy dukes and a micromini skirt?

Yes and know. You never know where the child has gotten these clothes or if the parents are even aware. The child may have snuck out of the house wearing different clothes, then changed. It really depends on the situation.

kids are gonna dress how they want
the parent can only do so much
if they reject them to not wear stuff like that
there gonna wear what their parents want
then as soon as they leave change
parents cant follow them around with a broom
and beat them everytime they do something bad
i wouldnt look down on them.
my parents did a wonderful job raising me
but i got pregnant and im only 18
some people might think thats to early
but it had nothing to do with my parents
even tho theyvve talked and yelled at me
several times about it, it doesnt matter
people are gonna do what they want

Yes and no. Sometimes kids get those clothes without the parents knowing and where change into them after they have left the house so it totally depends on the situation.

Sometimes yes, because then you look at the parents and they're dressed just as skimpily. In which case I'll have to agree with HiTek on that one.

It depends. I know girls who taje makeup/clothes with them when they leave the house...so sometimes it is not the parents fault.
But e personally, I do not agree with it at all. Children nor adults should dress like that.

No. Clothing means very little when considering someone values. Just because they wear revealing clothing doesn't mean they're out screwing. And it's not my position to tell someone how to make their child dress.
