Having been with my wife for almost a decade (but now divorced) I am back on the dating scene and I am a little out of practice. Basically my brother set me up with a girl from his work who I knew vaguely and we had a date, at the end of the date I didn't kiss her-should I have done so? I do like her and she seems to like me (she texted me shortly afterwards saying she wanted to see me again) but now I feel like I may have given the wrong impression by not at least kissing her goodnight.

If she wants to see you again then what do you really have to worry about. I wouldn't put to much thought into the past and think about kissing her the next time you see her. She may appreciate the pace you are going at and a lot of girls don't like to kiss on the first date anyway. If you didn't kiss her then the moment probably wasn't right or your instinct would have acted on it anyway so don't worry and just go out and have fun. Things will all happen at their own pace. I think you probably played it smart - things should be low key on the first date. I think you are overthinking it. If she texted you afterwards saying she would like to see you again, you apparently made a very good impression her. You have to follow your instincts and do what you feel is right. You have nothing to worry about at all. She probably thought you were being a gentleman by not going in for the kiss so soon. Also, I am assuming that she knows you are just getting back into the dating game after a 10 year marriage - she probably expected you to be a little shy at first. Besides, it gives you something to look forward to at the end of your second date ;-). Have fun.

I dont think it is really that big of a deal, alot of women like to not be kissed especially on the first date cause then there is that curiousity afterwards. I dont think you gave her the wrong impression at all, pretty much what that says to me is that you have respect for women which is a great thing.

Heyy you played it safe and thats ok. Dont worry you probably didnt give her the wrong impression just because you didnt kiss her you did what you felt comfortable doing and if you did kiss her and you were uncomfortable I think that would of been worse. Plus she text you saying that she wants to see you again so apperently you didnt mess things up. Everything I believe is going to be fine. Hope this helps.

I don't think you should have kissed her. That's a little forward on the first date. Had you kissed her, she might not have texted you asking to see you again. Clearly she wants more of you now! You did the right thing.

Do what you feel is right...you obviously didn't feel ready to kiss her and she doesn't seem to have taken any offence...the fact that she wants to see you again proves that...dating doesn't have a list of do's and don'ts ...just relax and go with the flow...if she wants you to kiss her...believe me she'll let you know.

dont worry about it. she said she wanted to see you again. if it feels uncomfortable due to that just tell her that you didnt feel comfortable kissing her on the first date....and that will just give you the opportunity to make up for it later. wink wink
just have fun and do what you feel....dont try to guess what you should do....just do what feels right at that moment

no, dont worry, she will think more of you for not kissing on the first date. maybe kiss her on the second, but make sure it wont lead to anything else or that respect she has for you will end, unless she is willing.
