I'm scared, are you?

I'm disturbed by anyone -- any fundamentalist, Christian or otherwise -- who claims to know exactly what God's plans are. I'm particularly annoyed with those evangelicals who claim to know practically the time and date of the second coming. I believe we should be skeptical of any extremist who judges others and pressures us into accepting their views.

"Superstar" preachers and evangelicals do scare me because they're all over the media SELLING their versions of Christianity which I don't think are accurate or fair.

This also makes Christians in general look bad -- not all Christians are Bible-thumping holy-rollers who dictate rules and judge everyone from the pedestal on which they THINK they sit.

A lot of the Christians I know are genuinely open-minded and don't claim to be religious. They are attracted to Christ's teachings of love and tolerance and helping those less-fortunate -- and, yes, many even care about the environment and acknowledge our own roles in perpetuating global warming.

But, in answer to your question, typically evangelicals DO scare me. All extremists -- Muslim, Christian, Jewish, whatever -- worry me. Hypocrisy is not exclusive to evangelical Christians. I've met very hypocritical people from nearly all faiths.

That said, there are also some very devout people who I believe practice what they preach. (In the sense that they really do try to abide by their convictions in every way.)

do a sprint diagnosis your self. a great form of the founding fathers have been Christian. Even Jefferson, no longer precisely a Christian, believed in a author God who might choose people for the sturdy and evil they did in the international. i'm frightened approximately you while you're petrified of evangelicals. the two you have a medical phobia, or you're uninformed approximately evangelicals. they are not that lots distinctive from individuals.

No, I am not frightened by them.

There are some, like my stepmother, who has so much hatred and disrespect for my father, that she refused to give him the burial he asked for, and instead tried to pervert it into a Christian ceremony. I hope she gets the same treatment when she dies, and has no one to mourn her, with a travesty of a ceremony.

And for the evangelicals -- like the man who called himself a rabbi -- who pretend to be Jews ("messianic Jews") in order to trick the ignorant into becoming apostates, I wish the same.

I don't fear them; I don't pity them. If it did not make them more important than they are, I would hate them -- but they are not worth the effort or energy.

They annoy me and anger me sometimes with their conceit but no they don't scare me-their creed after all is heading straight down the drain so there's nothing to fear.

well yeah, they are fundamentalists, and as such i think they have as much potential as a muslim extremist of doing something wildly destructive in the deluded belief that god wants it.

Not directly. I fear the consequences of their beliefs if they hold enough power to pursue them.
