Matthew 19:16-21 "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

And he [Jesus] said unto him . . . keep the commandments. . . . The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven."

My heart is actually very deeply burdened for the poor. When I lived back in GA. We have a clothing "pantry" that was filled with clothes and carseats, just lots of stuff. We gave it all to the victims of hurricane Katrina. And no, we didn't to certain officials, people from our church hand delivered it ourselves.

I have the heart to do the same thing out here and in fact expand it to food, and basic needs, (personal items)

My husband and I also have a vision for a shelter for homeless people/ battered and abused people.

It brings me back to the verse where Jesus says in Matthew 25:35

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

ALL GREAT RELIGION IS POVERTY INDUSTRY.

It profits the religion than the people who is the church.

Great Religion as the source of income and a shield to privilege and I called them, "The Butcher-Gods".

$37 million restoration of the ancient basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, Italy.

Los Angeles cathedral cost is estimated at around $200 million.

The New York City "Opus Dei" headquarters cost $69 million.

In Corporate Religion is growing status is seen in all kinds of businesses. I think that Jesus is the product for this Corporate Religion.

The money suppost to go to the church members and if you still believe your church is placing too much emphasis on finances, you should welcome your concern because money in church, they think more of their money than they do of God's work.

They took more than what they give.

The ones in church know they are vulnerable and that everyone is. That is why philanthropy makes so much sense in religion and why religion is so important to philanthropy.

Jesus said, "No one can serve two masters. ... You cannot serve both God and Money" Matthew 6:24.

The Bible says, "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" 2 Corinthians 9:7.

Jesus was sizing that fellow up to be one of his apostles or disciples, not just an ordinary believer.

Ordinary folks need most of their income to feed their families.

Also, Jesus knew that the young man really hadn't kept all of the commandments, because nobody but Jesus and Mary ever did.

Because they aren't true chrisitians, they use 'christianity' as a way to control and their are only concerned with making themselves appear in good light and their own greed.

They ARE concerned...they just don't believe in dolling out handouts for nothing.
Besides...charitable contributions make GREAT tax deductions!
