Severe diarrhea can be a sign of a GI problem or something like C-diff which is a gut bacterial infection. It could be from a side effect of a medication or it could be from lactose in tolerance, IBS or celiac sprue. Any time you have severe diarrhea and it occurs often it should be checked out to find out what is causing it.

You can get diarrhea from a flu type virus, or an intolerance to a food(s) such as dairy products. If you're sick you can buy an over the counter medicine to help. If you think it's diet related try forgoing from certain foods to figure out which food or food group may be causing the problem.

It could be anyone of a hundred conditions.

Why do people answer this question with "its in the water?"
As if you only get sick from water that is polluted?

If it goes on longer then 3 days or if you have a fever of 102+ I would get to a doctor.

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. You have to replace what you loose or it can be life threatening.

Dehydration is your top concern.

Hello there. It can be a multiple of things:
-diet (ie: CHANGE in diet)
-stress
-medication side effect
-physical condition

Stay away fr dairy products until u have been seen by a licensed physician.

especially IF this is a reoccurring problem, IT may b more serious and this is yr body's way of telling u that u have something awry...don't let it go on--it is 'warning' u IF it continues...

Meantime, eat rice and bananas that may help.
good luck
Blessed be!
