No, we are the children of the most High God. But, to answer you truthfully - hey, look around you. Pretty much what you see today is hurting children, and wounded spirits.
As far as the "morning star" goes - theres two of them in the Bible. One is Christ. Do you know who the other one is?
Yep, satan himself. Lucifer translated means bright morning star. He's constantly trying to replace Christ. And the war is on.......

When we accept God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as the triune God, Jesus statement is correct in calling us little children. Anyway, this triune God wishes to be your heavenly father as the Bible teaches. So the believers are little children as far as God is concerned. Morning star is a welcome sight for those who have gone through stormy sea at night of total darkness. To sight the morning star, is a great relief for the sea farers.

Jesus is the vivid and mornings action picture star this isn't the celebrities at nighttime although the sunlight. Jesus is the single which died and rose again to grant his mild (life) to the international. that is an argument of concept, that the sunlight gadgets and rises because it is the earth that turns and so Jesus is called the lamb slain from the beginning of the international. Jesus became ever our savior, ever our mild yet in our attitude he's risen anew, for we were interior the darkish and for us He rose from lack of life itself to grant us life, which life He continually had with the daddy and in the course of the eternal Spirit we are grew to grow to be to Him who's the Son of His love.

We are God's children.

And p.s.
Morining Star, is Jesus, satan is the false Morning Star. Did not you see the verse asking him how he fell from heaven, if he is the morning star? It is mocking him.

Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and morning star.

The word Lucifer, is refering to Venus, the morning star, which satan thinks he is, but is not. The Bible does not call satan , Lucifer, people are mixed up in that way. It is mocking him.

Unless he was at one time called the bright and morning star because of his stature in the angel rank, but God knew he would fall, and i think the true Morning Star is always and always has been Jesus.

Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

........now replace Lucifer with Morning Star, or Venus, this is mocking satan, how is the morning star fallen from heaven? Well, it is not, the star is still there, and Jesus is the Morning Star.

As an elightened man, Christ was referring to the fact that most of us are nowhere near enlightenment in our current incarnations.

He thought of us 'all' as (his) children.
He taught us as his father commanded.
He fed us as was his duty to do so.
He led us as his disciples, and commanded us to do the same.
He gave his life willingly for us.
Better a child of Jesus, than the alternative.
