Does taking a laxative during the onset of a cold help ?

No it's not. And if you're trying to get your labor started, then you're not in labor. No you shouldn't take laxatives - it'll dehydrate you and can cause the baby to go into distress, causing it to poop in the womb which can get into it's lungs and being it's very sticky the lungs can not inflate after birth (because they're stuck together) and the baby ends up with a breathing tube for the first few days. But if you want all of that, then go ahead.

No infact it will make you worse because you will loose lots of fluid through your stooles and when you feel a cold coming on your best to keep your self hydrated in case you get the flu. it also keeps your homeostasis.. equilibrium of water etc. stable and helps your antibodies build up natural!! DONT DO IT

No. Although the older generations gave castor oil for various reasons (colds included).
