8months old and she took a sudden liking towards me. I have her now for almost a year and a half. She has a phobia and it is very difficult to gain her confidence. If she walks with 1 person she is very scared to go far for walks. She just does her job and runs back to enter our building. If she is with 2 persons or more she acts very confident and loves to walk and play. She only gets scared with one person whom-so-ever be it. We do not know what must have happened in her first few months. How to make her confidently walk without her shivering and being scared?

I have tried to assure her and win her confidence in many ways but she struggles to get back home. I have tried treating her but she will not ahere to that. At home she is perfectly normal and has full faith in me. She loves to go out if we are a couple but she hates to step out of our home if one person takes her.

I think this is something she will have to outgrow. Let her get used to you and others for now. Something could have happened to her earlier on, like you said. But it's up to you to prove to her that you won't let anything else happen. While you are out with her, try to avoid too many loud noises or quick movements around her. I think she'll calm down sooner or later.

Sounds funny, but saw the dog whisperer tie the tail up (by attatching another string to the leash, like a doggy purse! )so she can't put it between her legs. Helps her "frame of mind" be confident. Try to keep her mind busy by running, then walking.

Get a little pouch and carry treats in it. You can buy the training pouches that go around you waist like a fanny pack. Try to get her to focus on a treat that you carry in your hand near your side as you walk giving her little peices at a time. (like little bits of dog jerky worked best for me) It will teach her to focus on you as she walks and take her head out of the space of fear that she's in.

Try walking her with another dog that is confident. Maybe she will learn how to do it.

I htink time is going to be your best answer, you don't know what she went through before, it will take time for her to trust you but she will, I had one just like that, took about a year...good for you for taking in a stray....!!!!
