My 4 month old bites me too, it's play biting, but you should see my hands..OMG. Try putting Apple Bitter on your hands, it won't hurt her, but she won' t like the taste of it. Pet Stores sell it.

The joy of kittens. My favorite piece of advice is that they come better in twos. The scratching and biting is a natural part of their playing that she'll likely grow out of it, but not before she scratches your feet and hands (she can't help it if your toes are tempting as little pink mice). Anyway, my kitten was doing this and I got him a playmate and while he still played with me, he then saved all his scratching and biting for his new "brother." If getting her another kitten to befriend isn't an option however, try distracting her when she gets too rough with toys you can throw or larger stuffed toys with which she can wrestle like another cat. Any attempt to tap or push her away will be perceived to her as "playing back." It's not her fault that she's acting like a kitten. You just have to be patient and enjoy her antics. Also, I found putting new skin on a cat scratch after you wash it kept mine from getting infected (as cat scratches so often do). I found an entire article about just this subject at the Humane Society website, so I've listed it below to give you additional information! Good luck and enjoy the silliness...you'll miss it when she grows out of it!

She is only 8 weeks old! She is probably playing! when I found kittens that I fostered, my hands were cut, up too. After I while they weren't anymore. Deal with it. Play with her. If it bothers you so much, where gloves and clothing that covers most of your skin. Then you won't feel scared around her and she will get used to you. How long have you had her. The legal age to buy/adopt a kitten is 2 months! I only had my cat at 5 weeks because I found and fostered him and his two sisters until 8 weeks. I got to keep Sammy though : )

Try playing with her, but at a distance. Kittens love to chase light beams, strings and that sort of thing. That way she can take out her aggressions on the toy and not your hand. My cats go nuts over the toys that consist of a stick, string and feathers that I wave in front of them. My last kitten loved for me to throw her toys up the stairs for her to chase down. In fact, she still loves for me to do that.

You can gently discipline your kitten by telling her no, firmly. Also, when she grabs your hands or nips you, hold still and when she lets go tell her no and set her down. She will certainly grow out of this. Other destructive behavior can be corrected with the word no and a spray of water.

When you play with her, make sure you only do it with toys and not your hands or fingers. It might be fun to wiggle your finger for the kitten to attack but it only teaches them that it's ok. Kittens are going to bite and kick, that's just what they do. When she does it just say NO in a strict tone and then give her a toy to play with instead. Hopefully she gets through the phase sooner rather than later. And don't give up on her. She is just a baby. :)

I don't want to sound mean or anything, but your kitty is not mean, you just don't have a clue about cats. It's normal for a kitty to play this way. I guess, you did not do your home work about cats, before you got it. Never hit a pet, because it doesn't accomplish anything. It is so sad, that people bring an animal into their house and have no idea what's involved in it. Do some research on the Internet about animal behavior and care. The sad point is, so many end up in shelters, because of uneducated people. This animal is your responsibility and therefor you need to do your part to provide a pleasant place for the kitty.
Sorry!

You need toys that allow you to play with her at a distance. toys on a string or dowel w/a feather taped to end. If she stalks and pounces on you Squirt her w/water. Kittens are playful and don't mean to hurt but it does hurt. Lots of toys so she can amuse herself!

Little kittens sometimes do that. If she does it tell her no and as soon as she stops praise her by saying good girl and stuff like that. She might also like little toys.
