You need to decide if you want all the facilities abroad an aircraft or the no frills flight. If you prefer all luxuries, you can fly Indian Airlines or Jet Airways, Indian Airlines has come out with an option to book 6 hours before on non-occupied flights at low fares. Jet Airways has an advanced booking, but I guess you need to do that through a travel agent. You also have Kingfisher airlines. All the airlines have a disply of their schedule which you can check online.
No frills airlines are Air-Deccan which fly at rates equal to the 1st class fare on railways. However, seeing all the questions you've posted I guess the noising aircraft will be difficult for you.

You get meals only in full fare( so to say ) air lines i.e. Indian airlines, Jet airways, Sahara and Kingfisher rest all are LCC ( Low cost carriers and offer cheap fares no meals
