American Airlines is awesome about letting cats and dogs onboard. We have flown with our cats in the passenger cabin MANY times. It is $70 per cat. Each cat needs to be in a seperate cage (unless they are kittens) and only one cat is allowed per person. Buy a soft cage, that way the cat can have more room to move around. You could also put them below with the luggage, but there are major temperature restrictions, and it costs more. We would much rather have our cats with us, so they won't be scared. When you make your reservation just call the airline afterwards to reserve your pet's place. You pay the fee once you get to the airport. American allows 5 pets in the main cabin and 2 pets in first class, dogs or cats. When we were looking for a pet friendly airline, I am pretty sure I remember that almost all the airlines took cats in the cabin, just not as many as American. The one I remember that didn't allow pets was Delta. United for sure allows 2 cats or dogs in the main cabin, we flew them once too. You must take your cat to the vet 7 days before an international flight, and they have to get a rabies shot. They also need a health certificate, where the vet certifies they are in good health. Some countries also require microchipping and/or quarantine for a designated period of time. Within the US is much less stringent.

Wow, a lot of people really need to learn to not answer if they don't know the answer. Animals can come on as carry-ons, but each airline has different rules about it. My airline used to allow no animals as carry-ons. Now they only allow small dogs. I know there are some airlines that allow cats too, but I'm not sure what ones. Be aware that there will be additional fees. And at my airline if a passenger has a fear/allergy to dogs, the person with the dog has to get off. So ask any airline upfront what their policy is in case there is the passenger with the cat allergy. But even if your airline doesn't allow cats in the cabin, I think all allow them to go in the cargo hold. And no, your cat will not run out of oxygen or freeze to death back there as some people seem to think.

YES, you absolutely can, but you have to notify the airline in advance. The reason for this is because there are only certain numbers of pets allowed in the cabin on each flight (unless they are service animals). They must be in a carrier at all times inflight and the carrier must fit underneath the seat in front of you. The airline will give you specifics on exact dimensions for the carrier.

The only animals I am aware of that can travel in the passenger cabin is service animals. If you can get some kind of documentation saying your pet helps you medically in some way then you should be able to take it on the plane. That is of course if the airline will still let you fly.

well first off, dont listen to travel agents. they never fly themself and never have been on an airplane in years. thats why they are so few these days....... i am a flight attendant and yes small cats/dogs are permitted on board for a fee....they must be enclosed in the carrier at all times and can not come out. you can not sit in a bulkhead (first row of seats in each class of service) because of safety reasons. call each airline, as the fees differ and make sure you ask for the domentions of the carrier...tell them when u make the reservations so you can get the right seat...hope this helps!!

no pets are not allowed in the passenger cabins on aircraft. The cat would have to go in a travel box and checked in through special services. Not all airlines carry animals so you would have to check with the airline before booking to see if they would fly your cat.

your cat should be able to go. you just need to put it in a cage under the seat in front of you. just e-mail the airlinese or go on their site and to 'planning your flight' or 'regulations' or something like that and go to special needs travel or traveling with pet.

hope this helps =]

No, and I am glad because I am deathly allergic to cats. I can't breathe when I am near one. Now you know why they can't do it.
I am glad to see that the person who works for the airline said that if there is a person who is allergic, the person who has the animal must get off the plane. This is serious stuff. I can go into respiratory arrest if I am near a cat.
