That will help but a better choice might be the bedroom. However---and this is important--all carpets, even area ruga, are made with chemicals and dyes, etc., that can make cats and dogs very very sick or die. Make sure you have the carpet steam cleaned very very well or your kitty will be hurt. we aren't affexcted by the fumes and chemicals cus we're high up off the ground.

I believe that the fumes from the glue maybe toxic to your cat.
Just to be on the safe side I'd remove him from the house completley for a few days.

Perhaps you have a family member or friend who would be willing to look after your cat for a few days.
If that fails ask at your Vets office for a recomendation for a place to board kitty...you could also ask their advice as to the safety of the fumes.
If they give you the all clear then putting him in another room with litter box, food, water, toys and bed should be fine.

Sure, put him out of the way. My cat got into every roll of old carpeting they took out of here to the dump...He's a huge suck, blind in one eye but has a heart of gold. Our carpet had to be removed because it was spray painted by vandals...they even sprayed poor Pumpkin, who probably showed them where all my valuables were...He also dumped over 3 pails of wash water the cleaning ladies were using to scrub the paint off the walls...
Back to carpet...some new carpets have backing on them that has an ammonia smell. Sometimes this can prompt kitty to spray or urinate on the new carpeting. Hope he's neutered but I'd keep an eye on him after the new carpeting is installed! Nothing worse then having something brand new wrecked by your kitty!
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Carpet glue can be toxic. It's best to take them away from the house for a few days!

Yes, just put him in another room with his toys, box, etc.. He may meow because he wants to come out, but he'll be fine.

That could work or you can take him away for a couple of days just to be safe.

If that's your option then yes. Maybe you can board him for the day. Many vets have "day care"
