Rabies Vaccines for Puppies?

Hello everyone,
Over the course of the first 4 months of a puppy's life, they require a series of vaccinations (I believe 3). At what point in the process does the puppy receive a shot for rabies? Is it in the first round of shots, or is it involved in all 3? I need to know for customs/quarantine purposes, since I am taking my new puppy abroad soon...
I want to ask the breeder who is selling the puppy to me but I can't contact her right now and I want to know the answer now...
When I receive the puppy, he will only have had his first round of shots and then I am responsible for two more sets of vaccinations...when the puppy gets to me with his first round done, is he protected against rabies yet?
I don't know if this makes sense, I don't seem to be very articulate this morning...can anyone help me out?

Actually BY LAW and according to the vaccines manufactures, it can be done as early as 12 weeks. Many people opt to wait until the dog is 6 months, but IT CAN be given at 12 weeks legally.

No the rabies is not included in the series..rabies is a once only vacciantion. While it can be done as early as 16 weeks it is advisable and recommended by the AVMA/AAHA to wait until the puppy is 20 weeks or older. Once all vacciantions are complete they do need to be boostered in one year from the date of the last vacciantion.

Despite label claims by SOME manufacturers rabies vaccine should NOT be given younger tehn 16 weeks and according ot protocol as set by the AVMA/AAHA and ALL 27 vet schools they should NOT be given BEFORE 20 weeks of age. very intensive studies have been done that say the rabies vaccine can cause very serious problems when given younger.

Rabies vaccine doesnt happen until around 4 months. That is the age it is given, no sooner.
My dog is 13 weeks old, and will be receiving his booster for the year (last of it for the year now), and his first and final rabies for the year. He'll almost be 4 months old then.

So no, he will not be vaccinated for rabies, unless your recieving him around 4 months of age, than the breeder could get him vaccianted now.
