My cat has less hair above his eyes. He is less than a year old and it seems to have gotten worse when we started to give him milk. Is this normal? Also what can i do to make it grow back?

P.S. when we got him there wasnt a lot of hair there anyway but it looks like it got worse

All cats have less hair in that area. There are scent glands on their face. That's why they rub things with their head. They spread their scent and 'claim' things as their own. :) It's perfectly fine. You may be noticing it more now because he's growing. Both of my cats gland areas became more noticable as they got older. :)

I've had cats all of my life and all of them have had less hair around their faces compaired to the rest of their bodies.
All of my cats have been DSH.

I'm not sure if the milk would make his hair fall out, but giving a cat milk isn't a good idea...most if not all cats are lactose intolorant and drinking milk can give them loose stools.

If you have concerns the best thing to do would be to call your Vet and get his/her opinion.
If nothing else it will put your mind at ease.

Most cats are like that and I think it's more noticeable in a black cat. I had a black and white cat and the part above his eyes was black and his was very noticeable while I don't notice it as much in my other cats. It's normal but if it's really getting bald I would call a vet and see what they think or have him checked out.

Also, please do not give your cat cow's milk cause cats are lactose intolerant and this could make him sick. It's safe to give him goat's milk or cat milk in pet section at your store.

cats are not supposed to drink milk! It gives them worms and makes them sick! Just give the cat water and the cat food. Don't waste money going to a vet yet.
