Hey, don't freak out, because this probably isn't it. My brother and I had a cat (Gracie Mae) who used to sit and meow, almost screaming, for several minutes at a time. It was nonsensical, unprovoked, without purpose, high volume, and quite annoying. We got used to it, figured it was just some personality quirk. Until the night she could not move her legs, and went into uncontrolled clonic movements. She had neurologic degeneration, and had probably been having headaches, mood swings, and hallucinations for some time. We had to put her down, she was nearing a coma state anyway and there was no sense in taking the risk that she was suffering even though she could give us no indications-she could breathe, blink, and would turn her head and move her tail-that was all she had left. And it happened so fast...we had no idea. Except for the screaming, and clumsiness-but she'd always been clumsy. See, we got her as a tiny stray kitten and a little over a year later she was dead. The vet who put her down put her age down as eight until we corrected him. He said she gave every appearance of a much older cat. It was a freak thing, yes. But if your cat is "shouting" you might take her to the vet and see if she could be suffering from headaches or something. It also might be psychological.

One of my cats, Hanna, is spayed yet she still cries sometimes. Some cats do make a crying noise, it's normal. Now, if it's excessive, like all the time, than I'm not sure. But, if it's sometimes than don't worry about it.

Is your cat spayed?
If not that's more than likely the problem and the crying may very well be that she's calling to a male cat.
If she's not spayed she won't stop the 'calling' or crying until she is.

If she is spayed she maybe just a very vocal cat...one of our cats is like that...she "talks" all the time.

If the cry in any way sounds like a cry of pain, please take her to the Vet.

Good luck

I have a cat that does this everyday. I think sometimes they are just scared that they are being left. Everynight when we're sleeping my cat will cry until we call her name out and then we don't hear a peep out of her again.

My cat does the same thing. He usually only does it when he misses seeing us, like separation anxiety. I know it sounds funny, but when a cat has a bond with you that is really strong it's just like a kid. Hope this helps you out. Good luck with the kitty

thats weird.... look for other cats around your neighborhood. Or do you ever let your cat wander around outside? she's obviously looking for something...

If she isn't spayed, she is calling out for a male. She wants to be a mommy...awww how sweet!
