if your fever is 103 or under don't take fever reducer (like Tylenol or ibuprofen) unless you have problems with seizures. The fever kills the virus and is actually beneficial.
mix 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, 2 teaspoons of honey (or more if you desire) and fresh squeezed juice from 1/2 lemon (this is helpful but not completely necessary) to a mug of water that has been boiled. Stir. Drink this three times per day.
if hungry, eat homemade chicken noodle soup with lots of fresh ground pepper. Also, eat spicy and garlicy stuff (example; hot wings)
lie around and watch movies as much as possible.
suck on zinc lozenges, do not chew them. Take according to package instructions.
take lots of baths and showers
use a vaporizer or humidifier
boil water on the stove all day to humidify the house. Be careful to not let all of the water evaporate out.
use a microwaved rice sock on your head, ears, neck, or wherever you have muscle aches and discomforts.

Im going through the same thing and its not nice. Right for the cold and the throat what you should do is get a small aount of vixrub and plce it around ure nose not inside just around it. This will sooth the cold and help with the throat. Try losengers for the trot as any medication is usless. Do not drink hot drinks tes or coffe is the worst thing you can do cold milk or even cola helps me. Resulting from this i am slowly getin better hope u do to take care xx

Take a vitamin c supplement and drink plenty of fruit juices. Take hot showers. Gargle with lukwarm salt water. Rub some Vicks Vaporub on your chest and on your back and put a warm cloth over it when you go to bed. Use a little under your nose so you can breath better, but don't get any in your eyes.
Or take a bowl of hot steaming water und put some Vicks VapoRub in it, put your head over the steam and cover your head and the bowl with a towel. Don't get to close to the steam to avoid burns. It will loosen up that "stuff" and you will instantly breath better.

Heat a teaspoon or two of honey in the microwave for 10 to 20 seconds. Add a squeeze of lemon (if you have it) when it comes out of the microwave. Make sure it's not so hot it will burn you. Then drink it. It will coat your throat and make it feel better. Also gargling with salt water helps quite a bit. Good luck and feel better soon. :)

Go to the health food store and buy some honey liquot. Ask for it there and they will get it for you. It's a kind of honey mixture that you add to hot tea and will take away the soreness.
