The way I do it is for friendship only. I try to find something we're both interested in sometimes an elder can give seasoned advice to help and I also tell them a little about my life not to much though you really don't know who your talking to. Keep it simple!

Alll the websites with multiplayer games/chats where you can chat to real people, and just becomes friends, then maybe consider adding them on msn or something.
