So Christians apparently there are some imposters amongst you, I am not sure of the word as you all refer to a claim of "Those are not real Christians" I must assume there are fake Christians of sorts who are just using your religion as an excuse. I see this more & more in many Q&A. What is your take on these people who call themselves Christians & would god accept them into your heaven? I am not really all that clear on the repercussion of being a fake Christian but I am under the impression judgement for such a thing would be quite severe. So what is worse to you, one who is obviously using god for their own selfish needs or one who has accepted there is no god & takes responsibility for their own actions? I have a feeling most will answer such as they are one in the same but if you ask me there is a huge difference here

Thanks LEA I am quite sure this question will be deleted promptly. Funny how the real Christians can be so judgmental even toward their own Except when confronted on the subject

Look at it this way...it's impossible for a Christian to be perfect...they're ALL faulty. He is beholden to and judged by an external force...something they call "God" or "Jesus."

An Atheist is able to choose for himself whether he's faulty or perfect....right or wrong..moral or immoral. He judges according to no exterior standard. Many believe that they're perfect and that's their belief...which is fine.

But any Christian who believes that they're perfect...is...again...faulty. One of the requirements to be a Christian is that he be a sinner. A perfect person CANNOT be a Christian. So all Christians are, to one-degree or another..."fake"...or faulty.

Who is right or wrong...well...we may or may not ever know.

(I'm a Christian...and I believe I'm right...that all people are faulty (fake) as judged by an exterior standard.)

i am a christian..... i would consider a fake christian worse than an aetheist. At least the aetheist is honest in what he says he believes

individual behavior of any person would have to be judged separately..for example,,,is he a good person or a criminal... is he rude or polite... is he honest or dishonest?

the Bible predicted that there would be a great "falling away" from the faith in the last days, which is where we are at right now....i was guessing from what the book of revelation said that only about 15% of professing christians would escape the tribulation...but that is just my impression....the falling away would be due to accepting false doctrines and beliefs, and following them..being deceived.

Real christians, fake christians.... how sad you must put us all in neat little boxes like that! We are just people who try to do our best in life, but we are not perfect, never claim to be perfect and never will be perfect, we all fall short of the glory of God. ALL of us sin, every single one of us. Thank God we have a perfect sinless savior we can call on that died on the cross for our sins, He paid the ultimate sacrifice for us.
As far as being real, or being fake, I can't judge, neither can you, only God judges. I know who I am and who I am answerable to, I know what is right and wrong and what path I need to follow. IMO if you think ignorance is bliss and on judgment day you will not be judged along with everyone else you are sadly mistaken....
Finally, just because we call ourselves christians doesn't mean we are "fireproof" we still need to live our lives like someone is watching every single day.

In every single group - whether it be religious, or political, or a knitting group - you will have good people, bad people, people with their own agendas, etc. - As far as "fake" Christians go, well, Christianity is not different from any other of the groups.
Some good, some bad, some just with an agenda.
When you hear Christian groups on Tv begging for money, and thats all you ever hear from them - telethons, pledges - hell, even if you don't have any money - just promise it to us in the name of God, etc etc. What do you think is on their minds? Teaching Gods Word, or money?? Its just common sense that if all they talk about is money, thats what they want. Your money.
Also, don't forget that there is no better hiding place than behind a pulpit. Satan himself loves the pulpit. He does some of his finer evil work there.
Anyway, according to Scripture, when Christ returns, He will visit the churches FIRST. Judgement begins at the pulpit. Why? Because that is where Gods Word is supposed to be taught.
When someone stands between the congregation and the Alter, they are working in Gods Service. And when they don't do Gods work, but instead do it for another gain, then they are responsible for every single soul that is deceived, or unlearned.
Thats why it is written that when He returns, He will look at many, and say "get away from me, I never knew you". When He makes that statement in Scripture, do you know who He is speaking to? Christians. Many Christians today go to church and sit in a pew week after week and have absolutely no idea of what the Word actually says. They just know what some pastor says. This is going to result in the mass-majority of good Christian people being deceived. I can hardly believe my ears when I hear some of what is preached today in the name of God. Its incredible. Gods Word never said it, just some pastor.
If people don't wake up and study whats written for themselves, they will be deceived - and, their pastor is not gonna be standing between them and Christ at judgement, defending them.
Not hardly. In fact, if its a pastor who taught his own words instead of Gods Word, then Scripture tells us where that pastor will be. He will be hiding in mountains wishing for rocks to hit him and kill him so he doesn't have to face Christ. And he should be wishing for death. The stage is set for millions to be deceived by the Antichrist coming first, pretending to be Jesus Himself.
And oh, they will flock to this fake one. its gonna be the biggest religious tent revival of all time. Unfortunately, because of Bible illiteracy, most won't even know its the fake one. Its sad.

1 that has accepted that there is no God is worse to me. a fake christian believes in God but is not living their lifestyle as they should be. a fake christian may one day repent. 1 that has accepted that there is no God probably will never believe and will never repent. this is why 1 that has accepted and thinks that there is no God is worse.

i don't see anywhere in my answer that says that someone who lies straight to God is better than an atheist. not sure where you got that from.

Ultimately, the choice to have faith in "God" is between the faithful and their chosen belief and really has no bearing on a person being "good or bad". I know Atheists who are kind and loving people as well as Christians who are horrible criminals and vice-versa.

It appears you have made the assumption that being a "true Christian" somehow make one a better person, I disagree.

Christians are not perfect, only forgiven...

The Bible says you will know them by their fruit...in other words, a Christian can be recognized by other Christians by his/her words, actions and lives being lived out in accordance with Scripture....with that said, we are all sinners and fall short of the Glory....so, even the most "righteous" amongst us will fall from time to time. That does not make anyone a non-Christian, nor does doing good works make anyone a Christian.

Only Jesus knows for sure, but we are told to work out our own salvation. So you may never know about anyone else...do you know about your own salvation?

I agree that a pretend christian is undesirable information. They proclaim they are Christian yet their moves and attitudes are some thing yet "Christian" (loving and forgiving of all). often speaking, an atheist is someone who rejects the concept of deity alongside with the appropriate religions, and that is all. in the adventure that they're a pretend atheist, then that is probable that they do no longer understand the which technique of the time period and are really agnostic. for sure, there are agnostic atheists, yet they comprehend their position on deity. I evaluate myself a Christian.

HYPOCRISY on any bodies part is indeed a dangerous situation to be in--both religious and as atheistic.

--Why should we be concerned about the human judgement of who is & who is not? What' s the big deal--humans most of the time misjudge people, so what is the purpose of labeling anyone?

--Hypocrisy is an extremly bad place to be. If you have read the Greek scritpures or O.T. you would find that Jesus used the connotation only on one group of individuals and individuals themselves.--The Jewish religious leaders, who were supposed to be expecting his coming as the messiah.
--If you would care to you could see how and why he did call such ones hypocrites and the reasons he exposed them,openly- there is quite a range in his determination.

--He did not condemn the Romans, prostitutes, tax-collectors(very notorious) & others.

---When Jesus did use that reference on a group or individuals he was indeed making a serious judgement.
--Most of these died in the siege by the Roman armies--in 70 ce, for their religious hypocrisy.

--The question of who is worse, is not a judgement that humans can make with any real meaning, It is indeed God's view of who is playing the role of one who is truly "two faced"

Atheistic hypocrisy also exists rampantly, note one honest expression=Note there is NOTHING noble in denying God, honest or dishonest

*** g82 9/8 p. 4 Can a Realist Believe in God? ***

Atheist Aldous Huxley wrote: “I had motives for not wanting the world to have meaning; consequently assumed that it had none.” What were his motives? “For myself, as, no doubt, for most of my contemporaries, the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an instrument of liberation. The liberation we desired was simultaneously liberation from a certain political and economic system and liberation from a certain system of morality.”

*** g81 9/22 p. 19 Is It a Fact? ***

Atheist Aldous Huxley’s admission reveals another possibility, when he says: “We objected to the morality [of the Bible] because it interfered with our sexual freedom.

--THE REAL DANGER OF BEING A TRUE HYPOCRITE OF ANY KIND is that they do not change, no matter what!!!

This is the final judgement by God for religious or atheistic hypocrites:

(2 Thessalonians 1:6-9) “6 This takes into account that it is righteous on God’s part to repay tribulation to those who make tribulation for YOU, 7 but, to YOU who suffer tribulation, relief along with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels 8 in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance upon those who DO NOT KNOW God and those who DO NOT(my caps)obey the good news about our Lord Jesus. 9 These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength,”

So your concern is meaningless of who is , or who is not because in fact neither Christ, nor God find any kind of hypocrisy acceptable and their is indeed major judgements ahead for any of us practicing such ,seriously--honest or dishonest---

I'm sure you will get plenty of grief from your question, but it would certainly be a good point to debate. Unfortunately, this forum doesn't always lend itself to intelligent dialog.

For my own views, I agree with you. A confident atheist holds a great deal more credence with me than a backsliding Christian.

Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:

I like your Christ
I don't like your Christians
They are so unlike your Christ
