About 6,000 years ago Adam committed the first sin. He and Eve were cast from the garden. Since that time, all mankind has been born with original sin, and are sinners who need a Savior. Because of that act, Jesus came to Earth 4,000 years later, and died on the Cross, paying the penalty for man's sin.

Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life Through Jesus Christ our Lord".

Something happened 6,000 years ago, Adam sinned. But Christ rectified it. Jesus died on a Cross for us, and He lived to tell about it.

No 6000 years ago there would have been no major religions, more like localised sets of beliefs and superstitions. Mankind was still in the stone age
