How does natural law serve as the foundation for the rights and responsibilities all humans share?

Natural law accepts that there are certain rights that were endowed by our creator.
All other law builds on that premise.
However, in the last 20 years, candidates for the Supreme Court who believe in natural law, have been turned down by the Senate.

It appears that our elected officials believe that nobody has the right to make law but them, not even God.

Natuaral law, ( at least according to hobbs) is much like penhead suggests. Only after I have come along ***** slapped him and taken your food and woman from him, he will get some of his little buddies to form mutual defense pact against me.
I, of course, seeing them gather, will get my freinds together too. Each in the group will promise not to prey on the others and to join agasint those outside the group or those who break the law of the group.
If my group and pinheads group have our own land we become countries. If his group hangs out in my land even after I have clearly dominated the region, then he ( and other groups like that) are called gangs.

It doesn't. Natural law is that if I'm stronger and nastier than you I can kill you, eat your food and breed with your woman. Tha'ts no foundation for human rights.
