You'll need a capture card on your PC. If you don't have one, then you can buy one at CompUSA, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.

Does your camera have a firewire port or USB port? You can transfer the video to your computer that way as well.

Once you have the video capture card or determine if you have firewire or USB on your camera and PC, then you'll need the software. Both XP and current MAC operating systems come with free software built in. If you want something with more control check out Circuit City, BestBuy, CompUSA, etc for better software.

Once you have the videos saved to your computer you can use a program like SUPER to convert the videos to different video formats so you can upload them to sites or to burn to DVD. I hope this helps and good luck.

I basically carried out shifting my video tape series to dvd. I used a stand-on my own dvd recorder (Lite-on lvw-5005). It became so user-friendly as connecting the camcorder output to the dvd recorder enter, press the play button on the camcorder and press the checklist button on the dvd recorder. basically be advised that it may take an prolonged time to transform all your movies - because of the fact the conversion is in genuine-time (i.e. it might take one million hour to transform one million hour of video to dvd).

You need a DVR program (Media Center would work) and DVR hardware such as a TV Tuner with Composite/Coaxial input connections.
