Well after selling my Restaurant business of 25 years, and now
have worked for 4 different big Restaurants and Retailing Corporatioins, I have found that, besides other issues, pay
are very, very low; so how does this society expect workers in
general to be nice to customers.Today people don't do anything
for nothing, besides only the Mgrs. get the credit; the workers get
not even an appreciation words or proper raise, maybe one would
get a dirty-psychology talk, but people need $$$ to survive. There
are a lots of nice people out there still, but Mgrs. don't know how to
hold-on, on them, all they care is to keep the budget down and higher promotion for themselves. Please anwer to my comments
since I have done this before and everyone keeps their mouth shut
so why even bother bring it up in the news if you guys are not really
listening to the working-society, remember you got to be in other
people's shoes. T.Y. eidawong@yahoo.com

I'm sure low wages is a part of the issue, but there's also the employer/employee relationship.
If you've been at an establishment for a couple of years and notice the bosses favorites are moving up, but you aren't, that plays a factor.
Also, customers come in with the "squeaky wheel getting the grease" attitude, trying to get something for free, and sales associates are tired of it.
Customers speak down to the sales associate, sometimes cussing out the employee, threatening their jobs, and when your management isn't backing you up it doesn't give the employee a positive outlook on the employer.
People in general are becoming more rude, less patience or tolerance.

It is my experience that restaurant workers are paid base pay plus tips. If said employee is rude to the customers, they get little to no tip, thus lowering their own salary!! I used to tell this to my employees all the time...if you're not making enough money it's not my fault as a lot has to do with tips.
I find that too many people in today's society are rude: rude people are being served by rude wait staff, but I'm finding this everywhere.. especially when I'm grocery shopping. We need to get back to being a more friendly nation as a whole and stop all the selfish attitudes and ways we seem to have incorporated.

Inner motivation to acquire money to cover up ever rising expenses but it is simply not possible at the moment, maybe the real cause of rudeness of sales people towards customers.
