For a 37" TV, you're better off with Plasma. Panasonic make top notch Plasma tv (Pioneer is the best, but too expensive). If it cost more than you can afford go for a Toshiba,Hitachi or LG plasma.

The Toshiba 37HL66 was the top rated 37 inch t.v. for 2006 it's also only about $1195.00 at video only if you can find a store near you.

Sony Bravia LCD is very hard to beat. I love mine and I'm damn glad I spent a little extra money over the competitors products.

It really depends on the use.

If you are using it in a family room where people are going to sit at wide angles to the screen I would say plasma.

If you are going to use it for video games, I would say plasma.

If you are using it in a bright space, I would say LCD.

It really doesn't make any difference any more. They are all made in China, Mexico, Taiwan and places like that.
