Really Sudafed (pseudofed) is the most effective med out there however, it can cause unwanted side effects, mostly drowsiness, and can be a real pain in the *** to get due to meth and the procedures of the idiots that make it and try to stop it.
Sudafed PE is available without the red tape and still works but not as well as the original.
Vicks Vapor Rub works well.
Also drink allot of liquids and take allot of hot showers. Maybe even get a humidifier

Two things if you don't mind being drowsy take an antihistamine like Benadryl. You can try pseudoephedrine if you don't have high blood pressure. The other option is Claritin or Claritin-D or the generic equivalents. You only have to take Claritin-D once every 24 hours. This should help dry things up and decrease mucous production. By the way Sudafed (PSEUDOEPHEDRINE) does not cause drowsiness on the contrary it can cause insomnia due to stimulation of the CNS.

I use alka seltzer plus cold meds. I sware by them, so does my husband. We have not found anything else that works as well, or as quickly. With that said, everyones reaction to medicine is different. What works well for one, may not work for you. Its kind of trial and error. Its worth a shot, hope you feel better.
