If your cat is having problems breathing, the cat is in serve distress. Not eating and not using a kitty pan are all signs of a very sick cat. Cats don't survive long without eating, their organs begin to shut down after 4-5 days.
While I can understand your wanting the cat to die a natural death at home, I can't agree with you in this case. Just try holding your breath until you can't any longer....... Not a pleasant feeling is it? Anything that is living and struggling for breath is not enjoying life.
Tumors can cause an extreme amount of pain. Cats naturally try to hide illness, injury and pain. Part of their natural instincits. And they are very good at it.
Sometimes it's really the very last kindness you can give them is to stop the pain and ease their way to the other side.
Please don't let your feelings keep you from stopping the suffering your cat is going through.
Glow for your heart, I know how much pain this is causing you as I have been where you are now.

I am sorry to hear that but i say to put her to sleep. I know how you feel but i have never had to but my granddaddy put 2 dogs to sleep and i was really close to them and i was hysterical so just put her to sleep and dont let her suffer and maybe get a new cat or take her to the Vet again and have her checked on again and see if there is a way to see if she or he can live.

I guess the most important question you need to ask is How is her quality of life? Is she suffering. While 9 years of age isn't extremely old for a cat, she does have complications, that can cause suffering. You need to talk to your vet again and try to find out about her level of comfort. If she was sufferring, I would opt to euthanize.
Good luck to you.

This is a very difficult decision to make. If it were me, I'd take her to the vet one more time regarding these tumors. You didn't say if these were in her lungs, or nearby where they are pressing on her lungs. But, if they are in her lungs, and she is a pretty old cat, I would NOT let her suffer trying to gasp for every breath. I would put her down.

It is a very hard decision to make, and it's one I've had to make myself.
But, if your cat is having that much trouble breathing and the surgery is not an option for you then the most loving thing you can do for you sweet cat is to have her put to sleep.
I know how hard it is, but if she could talk she'd probably ask you to end her suffering.

I am sorry to hear about that. WHYdo people who don't like cats post insensitive responses in the cat section. They should just stay out.
OK....I know it is a hard decision for you, but follow the vets advise and don't let poor little kitty suffer too much. I know you love her, but you will see her again in Heaven. (if you believe in Heaven)

i think if you've given your cat the best life you could have, you should look at your cats options?if she did have an operation, would she be alright, would tumours come back! i had a cat who had tumours, the vet advised me of the options, there was no way i would do what was right for me,its what was right for her,i kissed her and told her i loved her and she loved me back, then she was gone!she had a good life,i didt the right thing for her i'm sure u will, good luck!

it sounds like your cat is sick. she probally is in pain. if you dont want to have the toumars removed, get some pain meds. for her. she probally wont use the litter box again. i personally would take her to the vet to be put down.

sorry to hear that. but the only thing you can do since the operation is expensive. and you don't want to put her down, which I know its hard, but the choice has to be yours. just make sure your cat is comfortable and warm, good luck.
