I cant see how a plasic or metal comb would break unless you use unnecessary effort to comb your hair or try to comb a wiry haired dog. If your hair is the thick type but hangs loosely but gets blown about by the wind....use a strong plastic comb with wide teeth and finish with a narrow tooth one. the same could be said with some hair brushes. There are ones with fibre hair....and ones with nylon bristles. The only types that I have seen girls is when they use toddlers combs and brushes.

Yes you are right. Best not to comb wet hair. But while you wash in water after shampoo and then the conditioner, use a wide comb under water and you will not have tangles.
Just use the towel as a turban and then leave the hair to dry. If you blow dry, use a brush in between.
A normal plastic comb is not too bad. Use gently.

It's very simple. Just use a wide toothed comb first to remove all knots. Then, you can use a normal brush type to make your hair smoother. For best results, wash your hair twice a week and use a conditioner. After your hair dries, massage your hair with baby oil. Just apply little. It's good for your scalp and hair, plus it's makes the hair look glossy and pretty. Especially if you have frizzy and messy hair, this will help out.

If you're combing wet hair, then using a wide toothed comb is good. If you have very thick hair, the Mason Pearson white detangler brush is good also. Otherwise I wouldn't use a comb on dry hair. A good brush for your hair type is best. I use Mason Pearson brushes. They cost a bit more, but they last a long time. Sephora also has some nice brushes at reasonable prices for the quality.

A wide tooth comb is good and it dosen't matter what its made of. Just make sure your hair is well conditioned after you shampoo and never pull or yank on the hair when combing it, if you get a lot of snarling use a detangler.
