feels dry and hearing has decreased and when swallow feel scrunching noise as if walking through snow.I do suffer from Tinitus and have nerev damage to left ear that has reduced hearing cause unknown but investigated via MRI scan and CT scan I have delved with cotton wool buds which i know i should not but this feeling is driving me mad. Have used olive oil drops and Ortex ear drops to no avail could there be a mist of cotton wall fragments on eardrum causing this? Should I take antiobiotics of penicillin that GP has prescribed. CAN ENT SCOPE defineatley rule out anything embedded in ear?

Doctors and ENT's use an "Otoscope" that can magnify and clearly show the tympanic membrane (ear drum) so if there was something embedded there, it would be visible. Also, if something were embedded, it would be painful. Perhaps this is a flare up of your tinitus?

Sometimes our ears dry out,NOT much wax and we get a stange sensation in out ears/LEAVE TO COTTON BUDS ALONE.
