"Do you want a meal?" (you only missed the "a") is a perfectly correct question, though it is not one that would be asked in most ordinary conversations. People would usually ask something like "Are you hungry?" or "Are you ready to eat?"
Learning English grammar can come by studying rules and practicing them, through reading widely, by mixing with English speakers and being inquisitive (as you are right now), or a combination of all these methods. A lot depends on your personality. Most people have trouble learning languages when they are feeling anxious, so if you are a very shy person, mixing with native speakers directly, in person, might not be a helpful approach for you. It is helpful to have some contact with them, however, because unlike books, people can give you feedback.
Remember, too, that grammar is important but there are other aspects of language learning that are also valuable, even necessary. For example, the question you asked - "Do you want (a) meal?" is quite accurate grammatically but is simply an uncommon phrasing. People would understand your meaning easily, but it would strike them as a bit unnatural. This aspect of language is very difficult to learn through formal study because most English study programs do not focus on it. It is also difficult to pick up by reading unless the books you are using reflect the everyday English language as it is now spoken. Again, you come back to the need for communicating with real people and getting their feedback.
Best of luck to you.

This question depends on the context. For instance, there might be an object named "meal". In this case, it is perfectly correct english and grammar, since it would be similar to asking something like "Do you want cake?" or "Do you want pubic hair?". However, if it is in the context of asking someone if they would like to eat a meal, the proper grammar is "Do you want a meal?"

Well I've got the one who was printed in Great Britain and it's very good because I am not English and this book has helped me a lot. But anyway, at the end of this book, English Grammar in Use (Raymond Murphy), you can study the most important differences between American and British english.

I think the more correct way to convey the idea is "Are you hungry?"
You may also say, Do you want something to eat? Would you like something to eat?
It is unlikely you would use the word meal in English with someone who may be hungry.

You could say "Do you want a meal?" but not "Do you want meal?" That would not be correct.
