I am being told by many people that I need to read the bible or that I don't understand Christianity so I challenge them if you believe that I am not one of "God's people" then that must mean I must convert and since most of the replies seem evangelical then please enlighten me. an honest question.

No, nor could I beat it in you. We both would soon be tired of each other.

You're already a Christian! You already believe in God. That's it!!! You got it!

The rest is just noise to clutter your mind and your journey.

Why do you feel you have to convert? If you post an update, then I too will.

my very best to you

There are two parts to this. Firstly, the style of service is probably different from Russian Orthodox, and the second is the Theology.
I think you might find it better to concentrate on the different worship styles to start with and worry about the theology later. This is because I don't think the theological differences are that important because you are already a Christian.
A lot depends on what teaching the Russian Orthodox Church actually gave you. For example, if you grew up with their style of service and weren't actually taught the reasons why they did things in a particular way, then I think I would start afresh and learn why the Evangelical Churches do the things the way they do.
If you don't feel comfortable in one particular church, go to a different one. Talk to the Minister or Pastor first because many Churches have different services with different styles, so it would be important to attend the right one.

When you say "Russian Orthodox" which type of Orthodox believers do you mean - the ones that go to church just to light a candle, make the sign of the cross, listen to priest singing without understanding a word or the kind that really know what the Bible teaches and what Christianity is all about? Because if you are one of the first type, you don't need conversion to Evangelism, you need conversion to real Christianity. If you are the second, then you are fine. Christians follow the same Jesus, no matter which branch of Christianity they belong to.

Nothing. And you shouldn't listen to any arguments given by men. Read the book for yourself.
Yes. And it doesn't matter what translation you read, honestly, as long as you read deeply and humbly search for truth. I can't guarantee you'll change denominations, but you will see things with much greater clarity. That's what's more important. This isn't my promise, it's in there.

I wouldn't presume to say whether you are or not. . . but the fact that you seem uncertain is suspicious. You shouldn't be uncertain if you truly are. You seem confused, that's why I directed you toward the source.
Here are two question to help focus your thoughts: ask yourself "Am I in a right relationship with my maker? How can I be, when I have disobeyed his commands to love him above all else and love others as much as myself?" If your answer to these is anything besides or in addition to the person and work of his Son upon this earth, who gained the favor that we could not through perfect obedience, your looking in the wrong direction.

I trust each and every physique that some persons are wising up. however the sickest area grew to become into as quickly as I observed Obama pandering to the Christian good for votes. Now the lines are so mixed approximately who says what to who and making specific they are asserting the splendid subject to the splendid people, basically telling each and every physique what they want to take heed to. one subject that average Christians do understand is funds, and that they are lots worse off than they have been 8 years in the past, so The Leaders of the Evangelicals have offered the congregations out, and a few are seeing it now that the money is going to each physique yet them, and are ultimately commencing off to doubt that the ought to pay to wish.

I would suggest you give this question to Jesus in prayer. Ask Him to help you search your heart for Him, and show you the way. Next, make sure you are open to whatever answer He gives you, whether you like it or not, because Jesus will never lead you to harm. Whether you remain Russian Orthodox or become evangelical or catholic, make sure it is centered in Jesus first.

No, there is no argument that you will believe unless God opens your eyes and allows you to see His truth.
2 Timothy 2:25 "with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,"

Why on earth, would I want to even attempt to sway you from your beliefs. I'm sure you are a good and moral individual, with strong feelings about your religion and culture. I personally don't believe that any my ideas and beliefs are above anothers.
