As a Cantabrigian, I find that I know the area but, of course, do not have much practical experience of accommodation!

This site does have a good listing and other information as well.

It is very much a matter of 'you pays yer money and takes yer choice'! Do you want to be in the city or just outside? Will you have a car (parking in Cambridge itself is prohibitive but there is a good Park & Ride service and a good public transport system which serves many of the nearer villages)?

Accommodation ranges from top class hotels down to small Bed & Breakfast establishments. All of them are regulated and provide accommodation to a standard on a star rated scale.

I hope that helps. There are, of course, many online sites with listings of accommodation. The one I listed above seemed to have an intelligent selection system and a reasonable range on offer.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions and I will try and help.

Edit: I can vouch for the Sorrento, as mentioned above, it is in Cherryhinton Road, on a good bus route with frequent buses to the station and into town. The hotel itself is comfortable with excellent service. We have had friends stay there and have also been for Christmas dinners.

There are only two Universities: Cambridge University and Anglia Ruskin Univerity. The colleges - mainly halls of residence - are all over the City and worth visiting, if you come at a time when they are open. Many people find this very confusing, being used to newer Universities which are built on a separate site. I have often been asked by bewildered tourists standing in the middle of Kings Parade, which is about as central as you can get, "Where is the University?"

We always stay in Ashley House Hotel. It is really near the river and you only have to walk across Jesus Green to get to the centre of Cambridge. Phone 01223 367701. A double room with breakfast is between £95 - £120 a night but they have lots of special offers so it's worth phoning.

A intense climate warning has already been issued. it is going to result specially the South West of London, and there are concerns that the river Thames is at snapping factor. so a strategies as i comprehend Salisbury and Cambridge are ok. I did examine besides the shown fact that that with the aid of fact the climate equipment to blame for the floods is shifting so rapidly predictions are complicated to make and that they did say that any section has the flair to be hit.
