This is actually a question I asked myself when I was Christian. If we are supposed to love the enemy and love the sinner hate the sin does this apply to the ultimate enemy.

If Satan asked for forgiveness would God forgive him, should you pity him for his pride and arrogance and pray for him to see the light and become born again. It would certainly defeat him in his present guise.

Interesting and ya know , I asked myself that same question not long ago...

You have alot of compassion :)

True, JESUS said"LOVE THY ENEMY"

Does this apply to satan?

I don't see why not considering he is the ultimate enemy..

LOVE is the most AWESOME way of conquering anything..

I just love it when people ask questions here that make a person think:)

To be honest: I am still probing and in thought about that theory .

The only thing I have come up with is We should love all our enemies and to me ,satan is an enemy so that would include him..

But I have a problem here: You said "when I was a Christian" If I may ask, What or why did you leave /change your mind..

It really makes me sad when someone goes away from being a Christian and does that mean Your belief in GOD is gone?

Please do not get mad at my question, I just am trying to help and I guess to a point I am nosey as to why you say "was" :(

I gave your question a star .. That's how cool I thought your question was ....

I hope and pray that someday you will come back to us all...You know we love you sweety :)

JESUS misses you...

I actually used to think about that a few years back but then as I kept getting closer with the Lord, I finally understood that Satan is actually the one who will never be forgiven because everything about him is evil, there is absolutely nothing good about him. He will always try to make sure we have downfall and forgiving him may make him use that against you. God made Satan for a reason to separate the truly good from the truly evil. But forgiving and loving evil humans is the right thing to do because basically, Satan's whole purpose is to bring down as many humans with him to hell. Satan has no control over the angels except his demons so all he's worried about is bringing the fall of man. Even by bringing peace and harmony into this world, he will deceit and everything behind that "good and peaceful harmony" is actually his cruel intentions of pulling us away from God.

First thing first satan's charater described in Isa 14:12-15 points to the fact he has a "i" problem he was saying the way to up is bragging upon ones self, but Jesus in Isa 53 tells the charater of the Second member of The Godhead Jesus Christ, Apart from a relationship with God one can not repent, we can repent only when The holy spirit is calling, but one is to hate the sin but love the sinner, satan has went too far, i am VERY SURE He was warned where his adventure would land him long before it was too late, but he did what we may do over a long period of time he refused to turn from evil, IN 1 John 1:9 it says Jesus will forgive us of all sin "AND" cleanse us from all unrighteousness, but "IF" we keep on not confessing so He can cleanse us and forgive as He forses not one to accept His gift of life, after a time we won't want to and then it becomes unpardenable, by man or angel, learn more free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com bible questions www.bibleinfo.com talk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com God bless

First of all yes love your enemy but... Satan do not wast your prayers on him but pity him for his pride is so much that he would never ask forgiveness. Satan also takes part in anything and everything that is ungodly and relishes in that which is abominable and vile such as pedophiles, homosexuals and rapists . He has a sick sense of humor... So we should love him as a child of God who was once an angel but I could never like him for who he is nor would I keep his company.

then again maybe since he is a spiritual being and not human it doesn't apply hmmmm...

Makes you wonder I'll admit.

Superficially it sounds Christian, BUT....you must remember Satan is NOT a human gone bad.

He is an angel with all the gifts every angel possesses, including the gift of foreknowledge. The idiot KNEW what he was doing, and did it anyway in full knowledge, because his pride was greater than his smarts.

He neither warrants, needs nor desires your pity or your prayers. He wouldn't change if he could.... and he can't change. Like God, he's changeless. Every angel got one shot to make up its mind who to serve, self or God. Choice made, and made forever.

John Milton got one thing right in "Paradise Lost". Satan's attitude IS, "Better to rule in hell than to serve in heaven.".

Spend your prayers on Osama bin Laden. At least, being human, he has the option of changing his mind.

It does no good to pray for Satan. He is beyond hope.

I see where your logic is leading you, but God meant for us to love our enemies here on earth in the hope of their eventual conversion. Those who are on the other side are already living their eternal destiny, be it heaven or hell. There is no hope for the damned. They have made their choice and it is permanent. This is why conversion is of such urgency; it means your eternal existence and where you'll spend it.

Do you think satan loves and pity's us?! I think not. And he would never "ask for forgiveness". He got kicked out of heaven because he wanted to be worshiped, I don't think he's changed his mind on that.

The tension of good and evil has been neccessary for spiritual Growth, I think that age is passing away. Jesus offered nonresistance to satan, then simply said "Get thee behind me". I try to deny satan, giving him no existance in my life also those who speak of him, more than they do God. One who has God in their life, satan disappears. As darkness dissappears when light comes.

You raise a very interesting point. There would be a lot less paranoia and hate in the Christian community toward non-believers and Satan worshippers if they had an attitude like yours.

Satan pities Christians ... he gave homo sapiens self-awareness and freedom from slavery (subservience to a god), the right to choose your own destiny - yet still Christianity persists and insists. Satan is on our side, he is fighting the good fight - freedom from slavery, be your own master!
