Aspiration of fluid from knee and injecting intra articular cortisone is curative.Safe.Painless.

Years ago I dislocated my Knee and had to have the same procedure. It was not bad and it did relieve the problem and I have not had the problem come back and that was a long time ago . I'm sure your doctor will be very good and you will not have any problems.
