We can and do. But His death eliminates that sin if you believe in Him.
It's a wonderful gift...take advantage.

When adam and eve sinned they as it were pulled the plug on life from the wall, Jesus the second member of The Godhead came and lived a perfect life FOR YOU, and on the cross He gave what NO MAN could take, and when He returned to Heaven to sit on the right hand of The Father FOR YOU, He took not His Divine body He had before the world was [Heb. 13:8] but the human body with the marks He got while here [John 20:26-31] He took a human body not just while He was here BUT FOREVER and He did that as if YOU were the only sinner He died for, so if He loved you so much and what He is asking in John 14:15 is "IF" YOU love Me keep My commandments, IF you love Him enough to keep His commandments [not suggestions] you will be there with Him IF not you won't and why keep doing what God paid so much to save you from, IF you want to know the main difference between the person of the devil which started sin in the frist place and Jesus the second member of the Godhead compaire satan in Isa 14:12-15 with chapter 53 telling about Jesus, and Isa 9:6-7 telling about Jesus as The All mighty God, He came to save you FROM sin NOT in sin, read "ALL" of 1 John 1:9 free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com bible questions www.bibleinfo.com talk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com God bless

This was a one time sacrifice made on our behalf to repair the fall of Humanity, before Jesus died on the cross all of Humankind were in the grip of satan and subject to him by our sinful nature,Jesus broke this hold over us and gave us back our dignity as Sons and Daughters of the Father.
But even more, His precious blood was shed so that all futre sins too might be forgiven when in repentence we ask for this, what the death of Christ was not is a free for all license to sin whenever we want, people seem to forget that the reality is that we have by the merits of His death and resurrection the free grace to convert and turn away from sin,but how many of us use the sacrifice of Christ in much the same way as a man uses a prostitute!

Jesus did not die on a cross to forgive, He died on a cross to "save us from our sins."
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. 15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!

I asked a smiler question before. And my favorite answer was one who said that the reason you cannot commit sin is totally for your self, so that u can be a moral person.

The blood of Jesus is not a license to sin---it is an opportunity to live for God in a sinless capacity.

Well Rach09el,
Jesus died on a cross to save us once and for all; not just forgive us. And we can commit sin now, in fact everyone you're looking at every second of every day IS committing sin. It's who we are and what we do. As natural as it is to breathe air without trying, so is sinning.
Christ died on a cross to change how God sees us; to change our status as guilty condemned hellbound sinners into righteous just saints.
When Christ was crucified, YOUR status as a guilty sinner was crucified. He was paying for YOUR sins as YOUR substitute. That punishment should've been YOURS for all the things you've done so far, are currently doing, and will do in the future. But Christ died for your sins; thus; when he died, your status as a sinner died.
3 days and 3 nights later, when he arose from death itself, your new status as a totally just and righteous saint in the eyes of God was made.
Christ died FOR your sins by shedding God's perfect blood as a sacrifice, a substitute for me and for you and for ALL. He willingly laid down his life and allowed himself to be crucified to a cross. Christ was numbered in with the transgressing theives as they were hung (crucified) on their crosses, and he on his.
Believe in his shed blood as a once and final payment for your sin debt unto God, and put NO trust nor faith in...
...your "good deeds", best efforts, occultic practices, deep thoughts, pastor's teachings nor preists' homily's, religion(s) or religious dogma, world or personal circumstances, communion wafers, water baptism, philosophy, lifestyle, education, evolution, your senses, church attendance, karma, religious attitudes, feelings, family traditions, supposed "holy or religious saving" laws or ordinances, self serving prayers, society, other people's opinions, etc.
Christ alone went in your place as your substitute to pay for the sins you've already done, the one's you're currently doing, and all that you'll do in the future. The only way to be made perfect is to be in Christ.
It's nothing experienced nor felt, but known by reading what the scriptures say in the bible, the word of God.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved! (Acts 16:31) God will judge you to be whole and sinless in his eyes, imputing Christ's righteousness unto you; Christ's faith unto you; and you in Christ.

He did that to "cleanse" man of his sins. You're not supposed to knowingly go and get dirty again. Just picture yourself as getting all cleaned up, then going out and purposely jumping in the mud.
