If they say the Koran preaches peace, if they say they're peaceful, if they say 99.9% of Muslims are peaceful, can someone *please* explain the co-incidence that so many terrorists today are Muslim?

Most terrorists today ARE indeed muslims, this is an established fact.There can be so many reasons / justifications from their side.but islam is the only religion, which promises inter alia 72 sexy virgins to a suicide jehadi, who dies while in action.
Not a small inducement for the illiterate bigots , no ?

Muslim is a peace community.
In Indonesia, muslim live peacefully with other religions for many years until a small group of people from out of Indonesia came and taught their groups to hate and attack others.
The people in conflict areas such as Ambon and Poso have been suffering from this teaching. Some other groups of people have also ruined the solution by putting their interests.
It is not appropriate to say Muslim are terorists but we all together should fight the terorism (from group of people who don't like a peaceful world).
The Indonesian police started to enforce the law although some people may think it's too late but better late than never.

Much of the world could easily ask why, if Christians are so peaceful, the largely Christian USA would have invaded a Muslim country despite the reservations of the United Nations.
There are plenty of non-Muslim terrorists as well--the IRA come to mind. Many of the terrorists in Spain are Basques. And let's not forget who bombed the Oklahoma City Federal Building.

I'd say that the reason is that some Muslims are poorly-educated in what the Qur'an actually teaches. The Qur'an forbids terrorism in all shapes and forms.

Why terrorism is bad and against peace. You see, US and Israel have killed some hundred times more people than muslims and when muslim reacted in the form of terrorism they are bad and against peace? What are you trying to say. USA kills afghanis and Irqis by carpet bombing and that's for peace. Serbs massacre bosnian muslim under the patronage of EU and NATO that's peace. US kills thousand of palestineans by using Isreali knife and that is peace. And a small minority of muslim reacted to this violence and humiliation of half century and took revenge, they suddenly become terrorists.
So, if you use atom bomb, chemical weapons, kill honest muslim leader (King faisal, ziaul Haq and Bhutto) support racist Israeli govt in UN, steal oil from our wells you are ambassodor of peace. huh bigots...

The answer is that they are NOT TRUE muslims. If they were they would not harm women, children, animals etc.
True muslims can only fight if they or family are being directly attacked (I think it's called self defence) or if they religion is being wiped out by muslims being killed to end there faith.
Even in times of fighting there are rules which muslims MUST adhere to e.g. not killing anyone innocent, women, children, animals etc. Also any enemies caught MUST be treated with respect and dignity and be treated the same as a muslim.
Why do you say many terrorists are muslim?
It is because western tv and christianity has demonised islam since it first reached Europe. Check out the christian terrorists so easily ignored by the media.

Sometimes violence is due to a struggle between those who have and those who do not have, or between those who are oppressed with those who are oppressors. Unfortunately, the Palestinians who are struggling against oppression are called terrorists but not the armed Israeli settlers when they do the same. As it turned out in the Oklahoma City bombing, sometime Muslims are prematurely blamed even if the terrorism is committed by non-Muslims. God does permit defensive wars against organized oppression. Sometimes some misguided Muslims turn to violence as happens with all religions and countries of the world. To call all Muslims terrorists is completely false. Islaam is a religion of peace, harmony and submission to the laws of God Almighty.

A descent answer to your Q,
While you are sitting in your warm house some Muslims are being treated like animals,some of them have to deal with war which is based on ''some oil'',some of them's country invaled because of 9/11....I think you want them to say ''Come do whatever you can I am not a humanbeing''
But at the same time (I have to be honest)some of them are brainwashed and acting like a jerk and causing problems for nothing.

Just ask any one from INDIA about Muslim Terrorism. They terrorized and destroyed India for hundreds of years with their peace.
