Yes, I believe the tendency is in the hearts of everyone. Just whether it's conscious or subconscious!

Due to previously failed relationships, you start to doubt yourself , your own tastes and start to falter and lose focus on what you really want. You hope for your ideal to come by, yet you know very well it's not so simple, and what are the chances of you being so lucky as to find The One, or your soulmate.

The older we get, the more we tend to create a protective bubble for ourselves and REFUSE to get hurt. So we hurt other people instead, and sabotage our own happiness.

sidenote: maybe that's why some people that marry their first boyfriend/girlfriend or first TRUE loves, cannot understand why a lot of people go through so many dates and relationships and can't seem to get it right.

3 great relationships, no cheating, just distance doing all the damage - heart breaks in the end!

10 lousy relationships, always thinking - "i want out!", yeah, you can say there was some ditching involved!

My very last relationship; ***** i was a fool not to see that coming.

Why o' why would my next relationship work!

sabotage or maybe just dont have the skills to know if someone is sincere in their admitted love to you so you back off or sabatoge inexplicably out of insecurities. its one way of saying youre truly inexperienced when it comes to loving someone and being loved by them. yeah, easier to mess up when you dont know how to do something

YES I so sabotage my relationships - I think I am testing them, if they stick by me even thought Im being an ****** then I usually end up with them for ages. But most dont pass the test and never get to see the 'nice' me. Dont worry, once you trust a guy you'll stop the sabotage!

yes I think the older you get the more you appreciate what you've gone through in life and tend not to want to make the same mistakes again so its real easy to sabotage a possible relationship.

It's not a matter of getting older, thats a characteristic a person can have at any age.
