Gaining weight requires good nutritional knowledge, a wide variety of good foods, along with careful planning. I suggest:

Breakfast: Cereal, with fruit and milk, eggs with cheese, whole meal bread, fruit juice, tea or coffee.

Mid morning: Milk and 2-3 pieces fruit.

Lunch: 200-300 grams fish or meat, 2 baked potatoes, salad, or mixed vegetables. 3-4 slices of bread, 4 chicken or tuna sandwiches.

Mid afternoon: Milk and 2-3 pieces fruit.

Dinner: 200-300 grams meat, fish or poultry, 2 baked potatoes, mixed veg's or salad, plus large serve of brown rice. Plus fruit salad or other desert.

Late evening: Milk and a banana.

And if you supplement this with some body building weight gain formula you will take in about 4,000 calories daily!

If you mean lean muscle, anything loaded with protein, obviously. Meat, meat, and more meat. Eggs are a tried and true staple of many body-builders because they pack a big protein punch that's easily absorbed. Of course muscle won't grow unless you give it a reason to, which means you'll need to weight train like everyone else.

Calorie-dense foods like cream, full-fat yogurt, soy milk, butter, cheese and red meat. Fruit such as avocados (more fat), bananas and coconut. Pasta and wholegrain bread and cooked cereals. Chicory instead of coffee--if you add milk and sugar it's like eating a whole bowl of cereal, with each cup.

Bread, pasta, pastries. You can also buy a powder that you add milk to, it give an extra 1500 callories a day i think. You can buy it from Argos for £20. Or from gyms.
