Are you in a hurry?
Perhaps there are a lot of people who have applied as a result of new regulations at the border.
(And it's about damn time we put new regulations into affect!)
The backlog won't last.

In Canada this is true because of the new regulations put into place by the US which will require any and all travellers entering the states to show a passport. This triggered a tidal-wave of applications which created a backlog. As of last official notice sent to the media, Immigration Canada was warning people that mailed requests would be delayed for at least 10 weeks.

Look if you are in the USA there are services that obtain a passport for you quicker than 3 months. Look go to this site www. globalvisa.com and read the information on this site. They have a toll free number, call them and they can help you. You can get a passport sooner, but like everything it will cost you more.

i had this discussion with the lady at the post office about 3 days ago. There is a 3month backlog but if you expedite you can get it as quickly as that day. But of course you will pay!!!!!!!

while my husband went for his immigration interview final 365 days, they saved his passport and mailed it to him in 3 agency days. If no longer something occurred mutually with your passport, then you certainly could locate out what the status is..

It typically takes about six weeks to receive your passport. I have not heard anything recently about passport processing delays.
