What I'm asking: Can 'pulling an all-nighter be considered as a fast, like in the same reference to what fasting from food does to physical body?? Is it connected to meditation in any way whatsoever??

when you loose sleep, you tend to weaken yourself, thus you can self hipnoze yourself by listening to yourself either your thought pattern or vocal into a state applied by you. Sure you will sleep afterwards but when you awake the power of suggestion will take hold. You can also apply this into which you can focus your thoughts so that when you do sleep you can control your dreams or travel. Try it for 4 to 5 days and drink sips of water. Only if you have a strong heart. Sure your reaction time is slower but wait and see when you awake. Focus.your energy during this time.

it can be considered as a fast, but not a healthy one(but since when are fasts healthy) it can be connected to meditation in the the sense of the hallucinations you might experience. there is a benefit though, while staying awake for that long, you may exhaust your body and use up all additional energy it has making you 'high' in a sense of where you have a decreased response time, difficulty making decisions, physical weakness, irrational behavior, and increased energy (for a little bit). well, wutever your doing, just don't drive a car or operate machinery while you doing this. and most of all, have fun

I can't think of any benefit one might receive from remaining awake for 24 to 48 hours. Although after some time you might start to experience mild hallucinations from lack of sleep. I imagine that could be intresting.

When you sleep your body heals, your brain sorts out all the info from the day and your body becomes rejuvinated. Without adequite sleep your body has no chance to do this properly so you can become ill, forgettful, depressed and physically clumsy.

lack of sleep long term can also have serious effects especcially if you opperate heavy machinery or drive. It could lead to a serious accident due to inattentiveness.

There is no benefit from staying awake for so long. The body needs to regenerate and this can only be done by sleep and rest.

It may have a sort of 'antidepressant' effect and you might feel kind of high or better than normal.
