why is it that everyone wishes for an after life

we hope far an afterlife because we are afraid. and when we are scared we need something to comfort us, to guide us. i have seen allot of death. some people take it well and some fighting gasping for every breath.
In my age of come to accept death am i scared yes and no. do i hope that there something else i do , That's called faith and faith can be the most powerful thing in the world.
you can control a man destiny through that.
i think that's how organize religion was created, be it Christianity ,Islam, or even pagan gods.
look at our history our present and our future. people always want to control other people for power, glory, money, wealth what greater tool than power god and if you belive in god you belive in an after life

when i was young and afraid of the dark . my mother would come in and read me a book and i would fall asleep
I was scared. my mother and the book was like relgion (faith) so i can fall alsleep. BUt as i got older i faced my fears and i overcame the darkness and i was not afraid
anymore.when i die i will be in darkness but iam not afraid of the darkness any more. I just hope i can live my life and be happy

i hope that answers your question

There are different types of spiritual path leading in different directions and answering different problems. For example if you want to still your mind prayer is probably not very effective...

So each religion focuses on a different path or type of spirituality.

It is possible to have one unified religion, but only if it includes an understanding of each of the different paths or types of spirituality.

I believe this is an important job to do - to create such a religion...

There is only one religion of the One True God being called by various names in history. The names are different, but the essence is the same: selfless love by serving all mankind for the sake of God. He who does this is the true believer of God, he who does not is not, regardless of what names he is bearing. Anyone can read the Holy Books on the Internet to make consideration for himself.

Variety! The need of all life on earth! Diversions for the mind: it starts off that way, then forms pools or groups of opinions and then communities, identities! No harm, as long as people have a mature understanding, people don't fight too much on account of religions, they know the spirit and essence of co-existence! It will indeed take a long long time before we can have but one religion: possible, not probable!

*Because religion is man's attempt to explain that which cannot be explained. Each of us as individuals haveour own thoughts and we pcik the religion that suits us best,. when chtistians deny this just ask them why they chose Baptist, Methodist or whatever church they attend and ALWAYS they will give reason that prove it suits them due to their preconcieved beleifs. *
