How come people tell you not to stand in front of an emergency exit when if there was an emergency surely you?

LOL - actually it's a health and safety rule - any Emergency exit should be visible to everyone so in the event of an emergency everyone would know how to get out. By standing in front of it you could be obscuring the signs and people would not realise it is an emergency exit xxxxxxxx

Isnt it pretty obvious that you would be screening the exit and be stopping people from getting out in an emergency. If you are stuck in front of it and a rush occurred you could be hurt and left behind to suffer the consequences.

Surely you are not asking this for real? You shouldnt stand in front of it in case there is an emergency, so that people can get through it and not have to negotiate past you.

i agree with caroline. you have to follow the rules because when there is an emergency you will be confused and scared , so follow what was written by experts who worked hard to keep you safe in such situations. following your hunch will only get you and others in trouble.
