When hair becomes dry, or damaged by rough handling, they become split. Having a lot of split ends takes away from the beauty of hair by making it look unhealthy and dull. Hair is always "dead". It's dead as soon as it leaves the follicle, but if it has enough moisture, it still looks good. A few things to avoid: colouring, perms, blow-drying, products with alcohol and rough detangling. Also, if you use a conditioner with a high content of silicones (such as Pantene), use a clarifying shampoo occasionally to get rid of the build-up. Another helpful hint: jojoba oil. Put a few drops in your palm and spread it all over your hands before running them through your hair. You can do this a few times depending on how much hair you have. If you put the right amount, your hair shouldn't look or feel oily. You can also oil your hair heavily and leave it in for a few hours or even overnight before washing your hair. For hair gel, I recommend aloe vera. It does the trick if you only want to smooth your hair and don't need it to have any hold. It moisturizes your hair rather than dry it like most hair gels.

They arent really bad, I have a few, I have to go to the hairdressers soon to get a trim, to get rid of them! thats all you need to do!
I think its just when your hair gets dry and stuff, its ok tho, its really nothing!
Theres shampoos and conditioners that you can use, and getting regular trims should be a pretty sure-fire way to prevent them!
