My mom has severe fibromyalga, so severe, her doctors wont allow her to work anymore, so she is attempting to get on disability. She also has blood pressure and heart problems, so there are limited options for prescription pain relief. Does anybody know of some safe natural remedies to help ease her pain?

Also, is Fibromyalga inherited?

I have fibromyalgia, which began about 15 years ago,and while I can't answer all of your questions,I take Tramal 100mg SR for the pain and Atacand for blood pressure, both of these are prescription medicines. Many doctors are ignorant of this condition so mum may have to try different doctors to find a knowledgable one.It is believed to have been brought on by severe stress as in my case over a long period of time.It may also be inherited by someone predisposed to it.No-one knows for sure, but research is being done.It is not fatal.Find a support group, they are helpful if only to find others who understand,There is no known cure as yet.Good luck.

The cause of fibromyalgia is currently unknown. Over the past few decades many theories have been presented, and the understanding of the disorder has changed dramatically. Most current theories explain only a few symptoms of the disorder and are thus incomplete. Many experts believe that fibromyalgia is not a disease but rather a chronic pain condition brought
on by a constellation of dysfunctional biologic responses to stress. Such individuals are thought to be more susceptible to stress because of traumatic personal histories, genetic factors, or both. Physical injuries, emotional trauma, or viral infections, such as Epstein-Barr, may act as triggers for the onset of the disorder, but none have proven to be a cause of primary fibromyalgia.

My friend has this disorder and she uses a topical analgesic called Tiger Balm to help soothe her pain.

I take the prescription drug topamax. It has helped a lot. A similar drug is neurotin. They both have side effects, but if she has severe pain, she may want to ask her doctor. And no its not inherited.

Not sure if it's inherited. But, my ex wife uses pain killers and massive alcohol consumption to ease the pain. She's become a total addicted drunk.
