I currently live in Poland and now the police are "raiding" people's homes and checking their pc's for illegal software and music, fining people like crazy!! They claim they can monitor people's download activity.

I don't belong to any network, such as on campuses, so that's no issue. Now i'm afraid to use limewire and bit torrent. Can all that be true? Are my downloading days over? Are they doing that back in the States too?

Your ISP probably knows or can figure out how much your downloading/uploading. Chances are the police can get this info. They probably won't come after you unless you are distributing it on a large scale to others. Or if you are downloading and selling for profit they will also come after you. But I don't live in poland or know the laws there so I wouldn't be too sure.

They can but they still cant do anything as all songs on Lime etc are free. The people supplying them testify that they're free to give out. there's fcuk all the pigs can do. Haha.
